Here are some tips for getting more
out of your everyday pictures:
Move the camera
Move the camera around and get high and low, also,
change the way you hold your camera which is usually
landscape and hold it vertically (portrait) when
a appropriate. Sometimes you can even use the camera
on a diagonal angle to produce some interesting
results.
Keep It Steady
Keeping the camera steady is very important (unless
you want blurry results), blurry pictures are of
no use to anyone. If you are crouching, try to hold
it steady by bracing your knee against your elbow.
If you are standing up, then brace your elbow in
your chest. Be relaxed. I hold my breath as a I
press the shutter.
Get Close
Generally, the closer the better, get right up
to your subject and try to fill the frame with them,
this doesn't count so much for landscapes.
Face Away from the Light
Because it is important to have well lit subjects,
a key thing to remember is to keep the light behind
you, be it the sun, a reflection, or a light bulb.
Use the rule
of thirds.
Use depth of field.
